| Resumen:
Se estudian los aspectos morfológicos, anatómicos,
cariológicos, taxonómicos, geobotánicos, etc.,
de la flora y vegetación vascular y avascular de la región
centro oeste del país, particularmente la provincia de San
Luis. En este período se prevee continuar reuniendo la información
básica imprescindible para el conocimiento, empleo racional
y preservación de los recursos vegetales, y sentar las bases
de una futura “Flora regional”. Se dará término
a sendos check lists de las floras vascular y liquénica.
Se continuará el perfeccionamiento y la actualización
de medios humanos e instrumentales en un laboratorio de Biología
Vegetal, mejorando la capacidad operativa en este campo del conocimiento
y haciendo frente a las demandas crecientes, que plantean las investigaciones
relacionadas con plantas. Se espera continuar con el apoyo a otros
planes de investigación, el establecimiento de pautas de
manejo de los recursos, la preservación de sitios de importancia
biológica (parques y reservas naturales), la solución
a problemas de importancia práctica y económica y
la divulgación a nivel técnico y general los conocimientos
adquiridos, mediante la tarea en tres líneas de investigación
que cubren un amplio espectro de la tarea botánica básica
y aplicativa: Flora y vegetación; Macro- y micromorfología
de Plantas Silvestres y Cultivadas; y Farmacobotánica y Fitofarmacognosia. |

| Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to study morphological, anatomical, karyological,
taxonomical, geobotanical, and other aspects of the vascular and
non-vascular flora and vegetation of Central-western region of Argentina.
At this stage, it is expected to continue with the gathering of
basic information in order to improve rational use, conservation
and of plant resources, as well as to lay the basis of a future
“regional Flora”. Similarly, vascular and lichenic flora
check lists will be finished. Both human and instrumental resources
will be improved and updated, which will enhance the capacity of
work in this field of knowledge. Thus, we expect to find answers
to the increasing demands involved in other plant research projects.
We also expect to support other researchers, set standards for resource
management, preserve hot spots - from the point of view of biological
conservation (parks and natural reserves) -, solve regional problems
concerning plants (both of practical and economic importance), and
spread technical and general information on our findings. This is
to be done by means of tasks carried out in three different lines
of research that cover a wide spectrum of basic and applied botanical
work: Flora and Vegetation, Macro- and Micromorphology of Wild and
Cultivated Plants, and Pharmacobotany and Phytopharmacognosy |
