Resumen: La juventud es una categoría construida culturalmente.
En ese sentido el análisis de las conductas juveniles estará
mediado por el contexto sociohistórico y por las relaciones
de dominación presentes en cada sociedad. La perspectiva
que ofrecen los estudios culturales para acceder a las subjetividades
que conforman las culturas juveniles es analizar el sentido que
los individuos atribuyen a sus entornos y a sus acciones. Ciertas
investigaciones analizan los jóvenes desde la constitución
grupal a lo societal. En este enfoque la identidad grupal se convierte
en el vínculo central para comprender la interacción
de los jóvenes con el mundo social. Otra perspectiva teórica
muestra la relación con los ámbitos sociales y se
percibe a los jóvenes en sus múltiples papeles e
interacciones sociales. En este enfoque se han construido categorías
teóricas tales como “culturas juveniles” e
“imaginarios juveniles”. Se incorpora la vida cotidiana
como categoría de análisis pues favorece el estudio
de los microespacios sociales y permite analizar los modos en
que dicha categoría se objetiva en los ámbitos:
educativo, familiar, cultural y participación social.

Abstract:
The category of youth is constructed culturally. In this sense,
the analysis of young people’s behaviour will be influenced
by the socio-historical background and the domination patterns
of the society they belong to. Cultural studies provide an approach
to the concept of subjectivity in young people´s culture
by analysing the meaning that their surroundings and actions have
for individuals. Some research studies have analysed the relation
that young people belonging to a group have with society; in this
perspective, the identity of the group becomes the central point
to understand young people´s interaction with society. From
other theoretical point of view, young people´s roles and
interactions within different social backgrounds are considered;
concepts like “young people´s cultures” (= culturas
juveniles) and “young imagery” (= imaginarios juveniles)
have been developed within this theory. The concept of everyday
life is introduced as an analytical category because it favours
the study of micro-social spaces, and the analysis of the ways
in which said category is objectified in the following spheres:
school, family, culture, and social participation.
